What Appears Still
Good design is invisible.
Exceptional engineering often is, too.
The Rolls-Royce self-leveling center cap keeps the RR Monogram upright as the wheel rotates.
At least, that's how it appears.
Recreated in Cinema 4D using Xpresso, this study explores the Style 670 wheel and its self-leveling mechanism procedurally from a single Time › Frame driver. The 24-second simulation combines the Smooth Highway and Cobbled Street scenarios, with no manually animated correction.
Steering, wheel rotation, camber, and suspension travel respond independently while remaining part of the same structure.
Conditions change. Balance remains.
The RR Monogram continuously adjusts to remain upright.
What appears still is the result of constant adjustment.
